Beyond the Horizon

The composer, pianist and arranger of this project.

Elisabeth Karatzoli is a performer and a voice teacher who teaches contemporary singing. Her presence in the world of discography and concert venues lists collaborations with great artists and has created an imprint that stands the test of time. By combining her studies in Psychology with song, she was led to shape singing expression as the most complete expression of the soul. In "Beyond the horizon" she finds herself in a poetic expressive field that most thoroughly befits her. She participates in the project through her rendition of the musicalized poem “There are souls”, by Napoleon Lapathiotis and her vocalization in the composition “Tranquility”.

Nenia Stefanou is of Greek, English and Scottish descent. She is actively involved in singing, writing, song-writing and translating. With her need for expression, exploration and communication as her compass, she experiences a range of musical and artistic collaborations that allow her to constantly discover new, enchanting paths. Her collaboration with Giorgio Lucetti began through the "Crossroads" musical performances, an extension of which is the creation of original material based on her own lyrics and the composer's music, which is gradually taking shape. In addition to their extensive and diverse musical interaction, they also met on the path of poetry when Nenia translated Giorgio Lucetti’s bilingual poetry collection, "Preludes" (December 2020), into English. In "Beyond the horizon" she performs vocals on a piece from a theatrical score.

Eleftheria Kokotsaki, alongside her philological capacity, is also actively focused on the world of song and theatre. She has been involved in multifaceted collaborations in both sectors, in various regions of Crete. Her collaboration with Giorgio Lucetti began through the Music and Spoken Word performances entitled "Lithography with a hot-air balloon", in which she presented the composer’s original material for the first time. In "Beyond the horizon" she performs the new orchestration of a theater song by the composer.

Graduated from the music Conservatory of Tarragona where she obtained the Honor Award for harmony. Graduated in traditional instrumentalist in the specialty of sac de gemecs by the AMTP Generalitat of Catalonia. Member of the Collective of Composers of Tarragona Mikrokosmos. As a composer, one of her highlights was the premiere of the work "Tarragona 1811" commissioned by the Camerata XXI Orchestra, on 11-26-2011 in the cycle "Tarragona clássica" at the Palau de Congressos in Tarragona. She has studied harp with Yanela Lojos, Esther Pinyol and Deborah Henson Conant.

I experienced music deeply from my childhood in Nigrita, Serres, through mandolin ensembles and the choirs created by the charismatic conductor Sakis Rakitzis. By means of the skills he cultivated in me, I managed to study various types of song (folk, rebetika, artistic music, foreign repertoire) through collaborations with many important musicians, from my student years until today; 45 consecutive years. My involvement in teaching prompted me to codify all the experiential knowledge of music I had accumulated in order to transfer it to my students. I experienced and continue to experience musical knowledge with passion and imagination, I offered and continue to offer music with love and warmth.

Barbara Stephen is a flutist living and performing music in Chania, Crete.

John Patouras was born in 1966, in Athens. He graduated from the Physics department of the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and, since then, he lives and works in Chania as a Physics professor. As an amateur illustrator, he has designed posters for several theater performances. From an early age he has delved in static modeling. He is a founding and active member of the Static Modeling Group of Chania with continuous participation and many distinctions in competitions, both locally and nationwide. A meeting with Nikos Bolanakis (at that time, a postgraduate student of the Laboratory of Design and Automation of The Hellenic Mediterranean University) and later with Antonis Maravelakis (professor of the same laboratory), was the beginning of a collaboration which aimed at coloring three-dimensional (under scale) prints of historical monuments. The temple of Apollo and the Naxian Sphinx are exhibited in the museum of Delphi, as a first example of this collaboration. In “Beyond the horizon” he captured the minimalist content of the work in the design approach of the cover.
